Obituary:
Marie (Pool) Stinson Pierce died July 28, 2010 in Denison, TX. She was born February 24, 1934 in DeKalb, TX to Thelma (O’Bier) and John Henry Pool. She was 76 yrs old. She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband Keeney Stinson in 1975 and her second husband Fred Pierce in August 2003, her daughter Nona Norwegia Wallace in December 2002, and a grand daughter Rachel Dawn Stinson in July 2003, and sisters, Francis Stinson, Peggy Baker, and brother John Pool.

Her surviving children and in laws are daughters, Kathy Cutts and husband, Steve of Denison, TX, Molly Landreth and husband James of DeKalb, TX, and Teresa Colwell and husband Mike of Gainsville, TX and sons David Stinson and wife Vicki of DeKalb and Roger Stinson of DeKalb, 9 grandchildren, and 5 great grand children and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.


Marie was a member of First Baptist Church - DeKalb. She had been an employee of Lone Star Army Ammunition and Texas Instruments. In her retirement years she loved to garden, fish, crochet, and do needle work. She was a loving, caring and sacrificing mother to her 6 children.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 31, 2010 at 3 PM at First Baptist Church in DeKalb with Bro Walter Jackson and Rik Hawkins officiating. There will be a private interment of the ashes.

Molly, I'm so sorry for your loss, I loved her, she was always good to me and a wonderful mother-in-law. I know it's hard, but be thankful that she's not suffering anymore, find peace in knowing that she's resting in the arms of the angels now. You know I love all of y'all and I will be praying for you guys.
