Obituary:
Mr. David E. "Hoop" Hooper passed away Friday, September 11, 2009, at Wadley Hospital in Texarkana, Texas. He was 49.

David was born in Freeport, Texas on August 30, 1960 to Robert Lee Hooper, Sr. and Annie Littleton Hooper. He was a truck driver.

He is survived by his son, Marcus Leon Hooper of Claremore, Oklahoma; a brother Robert Lee Hooper, Jr. of Texarkana, Texas; a sister and brother-in-law Betty Ann and Nick Van Zandt of Sanger, Texas; and numerous nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.

David is preceded in death by his parents Robert Lee Hooper, Sr. and Annie Littleton Hooper; a brother, Rodney Glen Hooper; a nephew, Rodney Glen Hooper II; and a stepfather, Rasters Van Zandt in 1989.

Visitation will be 1:00 P.M. ~ 3:00 P.M. Monday, September 14, 2009 at Bates Family Funeral Home.

A Graveside Service will be held 3:30 P.M. Monday, September 14, 2009, at Old Salem Cemetery in New Boston, Texas with Rev. Steven Cain officiating.

Relatives will be at the home of Susie Hanna, 102 Hwy 98, New Boston, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Sand Hill Baptist Church or Randy Sams Homeless Shelter.
