Obituary:
Mr. Michael D. "Mike" Chapman passed away Tuesday, September 8, 2009 at Trinity Mother Francis in Tyler, Texas. He was 51.

Mike was born June 29, 1958 in New Boston, Texas to John Graydean and Velma Estaline McPeak Chapman. On June 28, 1978, he married Davida Louise Bryson. Mike was an auto mechanic for Parker's Napa Auto Parts and ORR Chevrolet.

He is survived by his wife, Davida Chapman of De Kalb, Texas; his mother, Velma Chapman of Avery, Texas; a son, Brandon Chapman of De Kalb, Texas; a daughter and son-in-law, Abigail and Ryan Woody of Bossier City, Louisiana; four brothers and two sisters-in-law, John Chapman of Huntsville, Texas, Ken and Carolyn Chapman of Avery, Texas, Gary and Teresa Chapman of Simms, Texas, and Jimmy Chapman of Avery, Texas; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Kay and Hollis Roberts of
De Kalb, Texas, and Rebecca and Shepard Mays of New Boston, Texas; a grandson, Jackson Woody of Bossier City, Louisiana and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mike is preceded in death by his father, John Chapman, in 2000.

Visitation will be 6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. Wednesday, September 9, 2009 at Bates Family Funeral Home.

Graveside services will be held 10:00 A.M. Thursday, September 10, 2009 at Pine Springs Cemetery in Avery, Texas with Daniel Carr and Matt Pool officiating.

The family will be at the home of Ken and Carolyn Chapman, 155 N. Austin, Avery, Texas 75554.
