Friday, June 11, 2010 Bates Family Funeral Home Obituary: Mrs. Christine Brooks McKamie of McKinney, Texas passed away Sunday, June 6, 2010 at a Plano, Texas hospital. She was 90. Christine was born November 26, 1919 in Clarksville, Texas to John and Susie May Cook Bunger. She was a homemaker. She is survived by two daughters, Mary A. Wiser of McKinney, Texas and Barbara H. Knight of Sherman, Texas; three sisters, Lucille Flatt of Dallas, Texas, Louise Burkhalter of Simms, Texas and Helen Hamby of Portland Oregon; five grandchildren and their spouses, Dwayne Barthel of Temple, Texas, Kim and Mark Blackburn of Ft. Worth, Texas, Donny and Kym Spurgin of McKinney, Texas, Mellissa and Shaun Oglesey of McKinney, Texas and Tracy and Jeff King of Allen, Texas; four great grandchildren and spouses, Jacquelyn and Andrew Casci of San Diego, California, John and Stephanie Barthel of Texarkana, Arkansas, Justin Powell of McKinney, Texas and Ashlenn King of Allen, Texas; and four great-great grandchildren, Dylan and Reid Spurgin and Cade and Hayden Barthel. She is preceded in death by her husband, Warner Bivens Brooks; and a son, Thomas Warner Brooks. Visitation will be 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. Friday, June 11, 2010 at Bates Family Funeral Home. Services will be held 2:00 P.M. Friday, June 11, 2010 at Bates Family Funeral Home with Robby Bates officiating. Interment will follow at Woodmen Cemetery. |
