Saturday, January 9, 2010 Bates Family Funeral Home Obituary: Mrs. Clara Lou Atchley of De Kalb, Texas passed away Wednesday, January 6, 2010 at a Hughes Springs Nursing Home. She was 87. Clara Lou was born January 3, 1923 in Hamilton, Alabama. She was a Homemaker and a member of the First United Methodist Church in De Kalb. She was a Sunday School Teacher and a member of the United Methodist Women's Group. She is survived by a son, Connally Owen Atchley of Hughes Springs, Texas; a sister, Lois Jackson of Shreveport, Louisiana; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Allman Dan and Nora Atchley of De Kalb, Texas; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Huckabay of Midland, Texas; a special friend, Nora Suttles of Hughes Springs, Texas; 3 grandchildren, Traci Barger, Brian Waltmon, and Cody Waltmon; and 2 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Clendon S. Atchley in 1994; and a daughter, Cathy Pride. Visitation will be 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. Saturday, January 9, 2010 at Bates Family Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday, January 9, 2010 at Bates Family Funeral Home with Robby Bates officiating. Interment will follow at Woodmen Cemetery. |
