Obituary:
Mr. James D. Ramsey of De Kalb, Texas, passed away Tuesday, January 5, 2010 at Sunny Acres Nursing Home. He was 79.

James was born September 6, 1930 in Linden, Texas. On February 28, 1980, he married Sherry Ellen Graham in Fort Worth, Texas. James was a retired truck driver with Lone Star Army Ammunition Plant and a Baptist. He was a member and Past Master of the Haltom City/Riverside Masonic Lodge #1331, the Avery Masonic Lodge #921, and the De Kalb Masonic Lodge #9.

He is survived by his wife, Sherry E. Ramsey of De Kalb, Texas; four daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Hank West of Granbury, Texas, Janice and Lee Davis of Fort Worth, Texas, Robin and Jeff Roden of Fort Worth, Texas, and Pennie and Jerry West of Fort Worth, Texas; one stepdaughter and step son-in-law, Melody and Bruce James of Winston, Georgia; two stepsons and step daughters-in-law, Johnny and Belle Wisdom of Fort Worth, Texas and Benny and Bonny Wisdom of De Kalb, Texas; one brother and sister-in-law, Calvin and Margaret Ramsey of Bivens, Texas; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Nell Latham of Garland, Texas, Sue and Roy Hosey of Queen City, Texas and Barbara Jean and Taylor Sikes of Atlanta, Texas; 15 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held 1:00 P.M. Thursday, January 7, 2010 at Bates Family Funeral Home with Robby Bates, Kelly Robinson, and David Rozelle officiating. Cremation will follow with inurnment at Woodmen Cemetery in De Kalb, Texas at a later date.

The times I met James I felt that he was a good person and enjoyed talking to him. He really liked the old western movies in which I do also. I listened to you talk about him and sensed you was proud of him, as I was impressed with his wood work skills of the things he had built. May your heart and soul find peace and comfort.
