(June 02, 1922 to November 30, 2009 ) Resident of De Kalb, Texas Visitation Information: Rosary will be 7:00 P.M. Thursday, December 3, 2009 at Bates Family Funeral Home. Obituary: Martha Vasquez passed away Monday, November 30, 2009 at a Texarkana Hospital. She was 87. Martha was born June 2, 1922 in Waco, Texas to Gomacindo Pena and Petra Lopez Pena. She was a Preservation Specialist at Red River Army Depot and a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in New Boston, Texas. She is survived by a sister, Sandy Flanery Young and her husband Ronnie of De Kalb, Texas; a brother, Jimmy Lopez and his wife Ann of Dallas, Texas; a sister-in-law, Mary Pena of Wake Village, Texas; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She is preceded in death by two brothers, T.L. “Shorty” Pena and Felix Pena; and a sister, Santos Pena. Rosary will be 7:00 P.M. Thursday, December 3, 2009 at Bates Family Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 A.M. Friday, December 4, 2009 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Texarkana, Texas with Msgr. Gerald Priest officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. |
