(May 30, 1919 to January 22, 2012 ) Resident of De Kalb, Texas Visitation Information: Visitation will be held 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Friday, January 27, 2012 Bates Family Funeral Home. Obituary: Luther McCrary, 92, passed away Sunday, January 22, 2012, at his home in De Kalb, Texas. Luther was born May 30, 1919 in De Kalb, Texas, to Otto and Bertha Smith McCrary. He was a retired Sandblaster from Red River Army Depot and a member of Oak Ridge Baptist Church in De Kalb, Texas. On December 24, 1939, he was married to Christana Easter. He is preceded in death by a son, James Zell McCrary of Knox City, Texas. He is survived by his wife, Christana McCrary of De Kalb, Texas; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Dorothy Smith of Caddo Mills, Texas, Luther Mae and Roger Toliver of Hooks, Texas, Loist D. and Louis Bennett of Duarte, California, and Carolyn J. and Greg Harris of De Kalb, Texas; five sons, Wesley G. McCrary of Stanford, Texas, Willie J. McCrary of De Kalb, Texas, Garry D. McCrary of De Kalb, Texas, Chester R. McCrary of Ashdown, Arkansas and Danny R. McCrary of De Kalb, Texas; as well as a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, January 28, 2012, at Bates Family Funeral Home with Rev. Roger Toliver and Rev. Delphine Germany officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery in De Kalb.
