Harold Franklin Martin - age: 69

Tuesday, November 3, 2009 Bates Family Funeral Home Obituary: Mr. Harold Franklin Martin passed away Sunday, November 1, 2009 at a Texarkana hospital. He was 69. Harold was born March 27, 1940 in De Kalb, Texas to Jerry and Mildred Daniel Martin. On August 18, 1961, he married Bernice Inman in De Kalb, Texas. He was retired from Red River Army Depot where he worked as a heavy equipment mechanic and alignment technician. He also worked for King's Auto Store. He served in the U.S. Army National Guard and was called to active duty during the Berlin Crisis of 1961. He is survived by his wife, Bernice Inman Martin of DeKalb, Texas; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Janet Mullins of DeKalb, Texas, Tracy and Timmy Payne of Annona, Texas and Kelly and Norris Powell of Hughes Springs,Texas; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Marvin and Debbie Martin of Hooks, Texas and Noah Paul and Gay Martin of Douglassville, Texas; one sister and brother-in-law, Estelline and Alfred Owens of DeKalb, Texas; four grandchildren, Trey Mullins, Brittney Barnett, Ashley Powell and Leslie Powell; three great grandchildren, Hanna Mullins, Michelle Mitchell and Kilye Barnett and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jerry and Mildred Martin; and one brother, Marzell Martin. Visitation will be 6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, November 3, 2009 at Bates Family Funeral Home. Services will be held 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, November 4, 2009 at Pinkham Memorial Missionary Baptist Church in De Kalb, Texas with Gerold Rankin and Rev. Don McPherson officiating. Interment will follow at Liberty Hill Cemetery in De Kalb, Texas under the direction of Bates Family Funeral Home.
