(August 28, 1927 to December 28, 2010 ) Resident of Avery, Texas Visitation Information: 1:30 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. Thursday, December 30, 2010 Bates Family Funeral Home Obituary: Mr. William L. Caldwell, Sr. passed away Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at his home in Avery, Texas. He was 83. William was born August 28, 1927 in Avery, Texas to Winfred and Miller Irene Beene Caldwell. He was a Fork Lift Operator at Red River Army Depot, a Rancher, a member of Assembly of God Church and American Legion Post 488 in New Boston. William was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in Korea. He is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Sylvia and David Phelps of Avery, Texas and Tina Caldwell of Avery, Texas; a son, William Lee Caldwell, Jr. of Avery, Texas; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Marion and Clara Caldwell of Avery, Texas and Robert and Zella Caldwell of Hooks, Texas; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Sydnia Forsyth of De Kalb, Texas and Delora and Marvin Scott of Bells, Texas; five grandchildren, Derek Phelps, Darren Phelps, Haleigh Caldwell, Ashley Caldwell and Billy Daffern; and two great grandchildren, Ty Phelps and Cayce Phelps. Visitation will be 1:30 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. Thursday, December 30, 2010 at Bates Family Funeral Home. Services will be held 3:00 P.M.
